Public Access Defibrillation

Public access defibrillation (PAD) programs and policies work to ensure that AEDs are immediately available for use by lay bystanders when and where they are needed.

Learning Outcomes

  • Learn the reasons the heart stops beating

  • Learn define components of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Learn each step in sequence of survival and how it relates to the emergency medical services (EMS) system
